SPANISH LAMBS TO GO NOMAD

The Inter professional Agrarian Food Organization of Lambs and Goats - INTEROVIC - that represents all the Spanish sector, held the XXI edition of the Nomadic Day in Madrid and Rafael Crespo spoke of the value of the nomads and its direct relationship to the consumption of lamb meat.

These animals are the only ones with permission to cross the streets of Madrid.

Tomas Rodriguez, chairman of INTEROVIC announced an important publicity campaign with a budget of 1.4 million Euro per year to be carried out in Spain during 2015, 2016, and 2017 with the title "Enjoy real meat once again".

This campaign was approved by the European Union in Brussels the 14th October to promote the sale of lamb and spring lamb meat with a more modern and competitive product and with new cuts and recipes to make lamb more attractive to the consumer.

 


PROFESSIONAL HAM SLICERS COMPETE IN VALENCIA

Spain is famous for its Iberian Cured Hams and slicing these hams mounted on a wood and steel stand, has become a work of art, and the slicing a Profession.

On the 03rd November the 6th Annual National Competition of the Iberian Cured Ham Professional Slicer will take place in the La Ferradura Restaurant, facing the beach in Alboraya, Valencia.


....... AND THE WINNERS OF THE GELATO WORLD TOUR IN SPAIN ARE.........

Maurizio Melani, who runs his Veneto Italian Gelato on the strand of Sagunto Port in Valencia, won first place in the Iberian Peninsula Stage of the Gelato World Tour, and will compete in the final competition in Rimini, Italy, in September 2014 with his Gelato creation "Grandma's Cookies".

Carlos and Juan Enriquez who run the Iceberg Gelato in Palma of Majorca, competed in the Gelato World Tour with a "Soller Orange Sorbet with Mint and Cardamom" and received the second award that entitles them to participate in the final competition in Rimini, Italy, in September 2014.

 16 Master Gelato Chefs participated in the Iberian Peninsula competition of the Gelato World Tour, and the three winners will go on to compete with the winners of the Gelato World Tour in Melbourne, Boston, Sao Paolo, Dubai, Shanghai, and Berlin, during a macro event to take place in September 2014 in Rimini, Italy. 

Isabel Lopez, who has her 29 Palmeras Gelato in Puerto Umbria in Huelva, won third place with her creation "A Thousand Petals with Italian Meringue" and she goes on to compete in the Gelato World Final in Rimini in September 2014.


GELATO WORLD TOUR MELTS IN VALENCIA

From Rome to Rimini (September 2014) passing through Boston, Sao Paolo, Dubai, Melbourne, Shanghai, and Berlin, 16 Masters of Home-made Ice Cream from the "Carpigiani Gelato University" in Italy, have arrived in Valencia, to offer, not only their delicious recipes to thousands of beachgoers as they swelter under a heat wave on the shores of the Mediterranean on the Malvarrosa Beach in Valencia, Spain, but a programme filled with ice-cream related topics and activities.

The presentation kicked off Friday with a photo call in which the 16 Masters threw their chef hats in the air to celebrate the launch of the programme, which is as follows:

EVERY DAY

The ice-cream booths open to the public at 01:00 p.m. and close at midnight Tickets cost 5 Euro for 3 tubs that are filled with the ice-cream of your choice.

At 02:30 p.m., 05:00 p.m., 07:30 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. 90 minutes mini-courses for 50 people, on how to make ice-cream, are offered by the "Carpigiani Gelato University" experts, with a talk on how to start your own ice-cream business, taking into account that in Spain there are 2,500 ice-cream parlours as opposed to 37,000 in Italy.

At 04:00 p.m. a total of 50 children between the ages of 04 and 10, are taken on a 45 minutes journey in time, in the didactic laboratory of the "Gelato Museum".

From 04:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m. at the MEC3 stand, children are invited to play with Hello Kitty, Cookies, and their friends, and have a souvenir photo taken with a special guest.

06:00 p.m. around 50 people are invited to a 30 minutes course on how to discover the 1,000 flavours of "Gelato".

11:00 p.m. a premier showing of the documentary film by Wolfgang Achtner on traditional home-made Italian ice-cream "Gelato is Magic".

FRIDAY 05th July.

A talk "New Horizons for the Market of Home-made Ice-cream", and presentation of the photography competition "Gelato Pixel Passion", presented by Angelo Corvitto, Master Ice-cream Maker, Valentina Righi, vice chairperson of the "Bruto e Poerio Carpigiani" Foundation, and Belen Parra, a journalist from Pastry Revolution (Montagud).

04:30 p.m. at the MEC3 Stand, the "Tonda Challenge by IFI" in which ice-cream chefs from the Iberian Peninsula will compete, will be held.

06:30 p.m. the official inauguration ceremony of the Iberian Peninsula stage of the "Gelato World Tour", will take place,attended by the main sponsors and politicians from Valencia City Hall.

SATURDAY 06th July.

04:30 at the MEC3 Stand, the Iberian Peninsula Competition "Tonda Challenge by IFI" to elect the best ice-cream maker, will continue.

SUNDAY 07th July.

10:00 a.m. a panel of judges will choose the best flavour of the competition "The World's Best Gelato".

01:30 p.m. A workshop of Gastronomic Gelato: future tendencies conducted by Master Ice-cream maker Fernando Saenz, presented by Javi Antoja, a journalist from Apicus (Montagud).

02:30 the competition "Tonda Challenge by IFI" to elect the best ice-cream chef in the Iberian Peninsula will continua at the MEC3 Stand.

05:00 p.m. Presentation of the Iberian Peninsula awards for the "World's Best Gelato" and the "Tonda Challenge by IFI" to the winners. The ceremony will be hosted by Master Ice-cream Chef Angelo Corvitto, and Jose L. Gisbert, chairman of the National Ice-cream Makers Association - A.H.N.C.E.A., and will be attended by members of the technical jury, the organisers of the "Gelato World Tour", sponsors, and representatives from Valencia City Hall.
